I bought a used mesh and vinyl deflector which needless to say came without fitting instructions. It looked straight forward, but I thought I'd look on line for any information. I soon found a lot of people who had bought one asking for help as they couldn't fit at least some of the attachment straps. The Z4 Forum had many, but with no solutions to the problems. So I got the zed out and had a look. Slipping the deflector over the roll hoops and hooking the straps on each end under the plastic trim was easy, but the two outer straps at the back were a little more tricky as the roof needs to be partially up/down to squeeze your hand behind the hoops. All this was pretty straight forward, but then it's the two inner straps at the back that give people problems. When I tried to hook under the trim it just wasn't going to happen because the trim is a tight fit to the carpet trim underneath. I couldn't get the hooks under. Easy solution I thought, make the hooks easier to fit so into the garage just bend the hooks out a bit so the internal angle was less acute. Back to the car and they clipped in straight away. Old after market deflector with velcro straps. New one and offending hooks!

Yes Andy, I bought one off ebay, but had to send it back because it was damaged. I got this one from a chap quite near me so I could examine it.
