Hi all

Just bit the bullet and bought one, zebidees looking a little scared now

What are the best pads, and size etc

Any one used one?

Any tips?......what not to do

I'm planning on light paint correction....swirls built up over the years and have a selection of poorboys products.....no cutting compound as yet apart from meguires scratch X which I have used by hand in the past

Complete novice but want to learn how to use it correctly and obtain best results

Hi Guys
I am very interested in this thread as well. I am considering purchasing a DA but will wait for the Spring.
The paintwork on my Zed is in very good condition but there are some swirls and minor surface scratches which I attribute to poor
cleaning technique in the past. It would be good to eliminate or at best reduce these and hand finishing has not worked.
Cheers
MM

It's a great guide explaining the basics.

There is a rotary one as well.

I do prefer rotary machines as a Da can be a bit slower. They both gave there uses though.

I've used poorboys black hole by hand to good effect ....topped with blue natty wax gives it extra ping .....again by hand.....easy wax

I guess it's a natural progression to go to a da....watch this space

I've got one, but to be honest I don't know what I'm doing with it (that's why the DA is better than rotary, less chance of burning paint)
Mine was a present that arrived with soft/medium/hard pads & ultimate meguiars compound polish, I checked out utube for technique & bit the bullet.
Seems to work well, with a reduction in swirls but I need to have another go & spend longer on it.
Clay the car first to get rid of the grit etc that washing leaves behind-I used a clay mitt, it's loads faster than using a claybar.
Regards

Hi
I have got the poorboys sealant but only just bought it

That photo was taken after a clay, black hole and blue natty paste,I was well chuffed with the results and you can use any poorboys product in the sun
