At least he has the top downWell done them!!! At least they had expert witnesses. Two things why are the lads still sat in the car whilst the police are taking photos and the police raincaots are ready for a deluge.
Not in the first photo. At least he has the top down
I hope they're not implying it has to be used by that date!!!!!!!!!!!!Whats with the air bags its a drivers side bang and only the passenger airbag went off!!
Its funny as i never new airbags had a shelf life but when i removed my airbag on my old zed there was a sticker with a replacment date, whats with that ?
Complex things airbags, the impact is directional thus setting off the required bag, also speed sensitive so will not always deploy when you think they might! Yes, they do have a shelf life, 10 years in many cases meaning we're probably past our sell by date.Whats with the air bags its a drivers side bang and only the passenger airbag went off!!

Did not know that, good point, as mine did not go off in my Oct 96........10 years in many cases meaning we're probably past our sell by date.
In basic terms there is a ball bearing that strikes a plunger that in turn detonates an explosive charge to deploy the airbag. The conditions need to be just right. My sister had a head on in a Peugeot 406 at 30mph and the bag did not deploy. Life savers in the thousands though. They have snapped the necks, and killed a handfull of people though due to height issues. Mainly the ladies and youngsters as they sit close to the steering wheel meaning the airbag hits them instead of the airbag cushioning them. They are much more intelligent now though so this is mainly a thing of the past.Did not know that, good point, as mine did not go off in my Oct 96........
So, in my case, because the air bag is out ot date, I'll smack into the steering wheel, then the air bag will give me a second shot as it deploys late. If the right don't get ya, the left............................. FrankieIn basic terms there is a ball bearing that strikes a plunger that in turn detonates an explosive charge to deploy the airbag. Ouch! That's gonna cost. There is an almighty stink going on in the USA right now over a re-call on thousands cars involving airbags made by a Japanese company which are fitted in many brands of cars. The problem is that when these have deployed bits of shrapnel from around the airbag have killed and injured quite a lot of people. One young woman in Florida was killed when a shard of metal sliced through an artery in her neck and she bled to death.
Tony.
I think that's a fair indication of the sums of compensation being sought and potential damage pending. It's been going on for probably more than a year Andy.
