So I have revs hunting up and down at idle and FC8 fault code (Mass Air Flow Circuit Range/Perf). Can't see any hose/duct issues and it runs better with the MAF disconnected.

I'm assuming that the MAF is faulty but not 100% sure. Can I check voltage? (Bentley says 4.5 - 5v).

Anyone have a used 2.8 MAF (13651707650) going spare?

Steve.

You can pop over and swap mine out and see if it cures before buying one.

Mines a single vanos.

Sounds like its the Maf as it set a specific code. Double check all the rubber parts for cracks and holes and wash out the idle control valve with some carb cleaner, they do get gummed up. Go with the offer of trying a good Maf if the change is instant then that will confirm the old Maf is toast. Only go for an oem part Bosch or Siemens don't buy a cheap pattern part you will end up buying twice.

Thanks chaps. For now, I've opted to buy a second hand one and when I get that I'll remove and check the ducts and idle valve.

I'm wondering whether INPA can give me the voltages that its reporting or the expected range? I'm still trying to get to grips with that.
