Has anyone changed the ram on a manually operated roof & did it make any difference.

I’ve not changed one, but on mine the top and bottom sections of the ram have separated but the roof feels the same to raise and lower. The only issue I have is that I have to manually manipulate the top section clear of the bottom section when lowering the roof. And the two parts rattle against each other sometimes.

Thanks, haven't actually checked ours yet to see whether it is all in one piece. We've only just discovered that there is a ram on it when Sue noticed reference made to it on another thread! Sue finds it difficult to put up on her own & as (according to her) it's her car would like it to be easier. (I just do as I'm told) I suppose we could retrofit an auto mechanism but would prefer a low tech solution if possible.

Cheers Ian.
