Hi all,

Incredibly short notice, but our web server guru has spotted the server is running low on disk space. He's gonna add some more disk space to the server now before it causes problems later on when he's not about to do so. also going to add some extra memory while he's at it.

Should only be off for maybe 30 minutes as the disk will need to run a consistency check which takes a while.

...and we are back! Would have been quicker, but the server needed 2 reboots. Wouldn't let the disk be resized at the same time as adding the RAM and CPUs...

For those who are interested, James added 30GB of disk space, 2GB of RAM and 2 additional CPU's...

Am sure you've said before but it sounds like a virtualised environment.

Yes it's virtualised, and the beauty of that is the ability to scale the resources when needed. No sense in paying (and there was a cost involved in what James has added tonight) for resources which aren't required yet.
