I posted this on bimmerforums as well as I am trying to gain as much info as possible.

Hello all, going to keep it simple and short.

In the process of getting my car turbo ready. '97 BMW z3 with an M44B19. I know, not the most feasible. But I want to experiment and explore farther than whats been done.
I am aware that when boosting these motors, the crank won't hold up as well as an M42 and the head gasket & head studs will need to be done to even bother getting past 7 PSI of Boost.
This will be done after installing the turbo kit and everything as I plan on running low boost for a while until I build the bottom end.

Fueling I have decided to go with:

-Vac Motorsport High Pressure Injectors (60lb/hr)
with the M44 adapters

- Fuel Pressure Regulator

- E36 Walbro 485 LPH Fuel PumpEngine Management:
-kdFi V1.4 PNP BMW M44 with Bluetooth

Turbo:
- Laurent Motors Stage 1 Low Mount Turbo kit for M44 which consist of:

-Low mount turbo manifold

- T3T4 T04e Turbocharger [T3 Flance with Journal Bearing]

- Oil feed and return kit for turbocharger

- Specific Stainless Steel downpipe 60mm

- Front mount intercooler 530 x 170 x 60mm

- intercooler tubing (8 pipes) with 8 silicone hoses and 16 Stainless Steel clamps

- Manual boost controller

- Boost gauge

- Exhaust temperature gauge

With that being said, I would like the input of others. I would like to know if I am missing anything or forgetting anything before applying everything.

Has anyone who done this still around in these forums?

Does anyone have any recommendations for a tuner who would be able to help me tune for this current turbo setup listed?

There are plenty of people who have turbo’d the M44 successfully, just depends on whether you want good reliable power, or continually break things. I’ve done the latter (not on an M44) and learned my lesson, wouldn’t do it again.
Far better to keep the car in a reliable range, and thus in use, than continually throwing money at a garage ornament.
