Currently exploring wheel options on eBay looking for a steal on some new wheels for the Z. Using an online wheel fit measuring tool which is real handy to see the effects of changing the wheel fitment.

My comparison wheel currently on my car is a 17x8j ET47 ( Z4 BMW STYLE 103) on 225/45/17 Square all round. I have searched to find m44 fitments picked up that perhaps an ET of between 32-44 was the sweet spot for Zs of this model. I have notice slight rubbing on full lock and only full lock. Could my current wheels be too close to the suspension strut with this fitment? From now on, 2 degrees of angle short of lock will be fine.

Would spacers cure everything? Am i wrong in saying the some people are critical of using wheel spacers as it is detrimental to the car or perhaps unsafe?

Looking to go for 18's of some kind if the right opportunity comes up. Current era M sport wheels in a grey, shadow chrome diamond cut style is what I'm after. Complimentary to Montreal Blue id think. Fatten up the rear a touch more too. 8J is already a good bit wider than stock wheel. I think we are probably all in agreement that a wider is better.

Ideally 8.5j-9j if possible. Most likely with 245/40/18 as a rear setup. Fronts would most likely be a staggered setup 7.5-8j as sets seems to come this way on fleabay.

Any thoughts on 18's and fitments for M44 and current fitment of et47 being too close to the strut appreciated.

we Apexhave the same ideas ! these wheels were on my z when Ipurchased it in June. I believe they are Apex PC-7 but Im not positive. all four are the same size and they are mounted on 225/45/17. since my frofile photo, I have put 15mm spacers on the rear and brought them out closer to the rear fender wells and it looks better .bBut I still want that dished out look like the Z3M star wheel. Im not sure how to measure for the max offset and and widest tire. And can I run !8's on the rear and leave my 17's on the front.
