Spotted some tell-tale white deposits and a damp patch where heater hoses cross under heater valve (see pic below). Hoses seem sound although there are slight rub marks where they cross. Hopefully leakage is from jubilee connection to valve - managed to tighten slightly and now being monitored.
Started to consider preventative hose change - connections at heater are straightforward but how do you get at engine connections? Appears to require inlet manifold and maybe more removal. If anybody has done this job advice would be welcome. Also is the heater valve serviceable or is it an exchange job?
