Always easy enough to have a walk around your car checking a few things, bulbs, tyres windscreen wiper blades and washers. I keep an eye on brake pads and discs when washing the car. Always have a quick look underneath at exhaust and body condition and take a look at all the suspension bushes before going in for a test, easy enough for me with a lift in the garage. Both my Z3 and Z4 have passed with no advisories since I have had them.

Ta everyone.i did what I could myself.got issues on how many cylinders want to work so looks like a bit more work than i thought. The other old girl has just got home from having a month in aus.she is good.ta.🤣🤣🤣👍

Like 99% of people I don't have a lift installed in my garage.

In the old days you could do a quick walk around prior to an MOT and pretty much suss anything that needed doing, those days are long gone now, so much more is checked.

My local mechanic though does have a hydraulic lift and while not giving any discount on MOT costs does a pre-MOT once over prior to any of my cars having the test. Worth seeking out something similar.
