Does any one know of a boot interior light with a built-in switch suitable for a Z3.

Are you looking to have an independent light or one connected to the boot light?
If you want a separate light you can buy a magnetic LED lamp which can be stuck to the boot lid and angled down.
One of my next projects will be installing LED strip lights around the edge of the boot. They will be linked to the boot light. Several other people have done this.

Thanks Martin it would be nice if I could find a switched light but failing that I am sure a separate switch would be fine.
Sorry Chris, I think I originally mis-understood thinking you wanted additional lighting on a switch.
Will a switched light from the cabin fit in the boot? I know the bulb is a different size so might need some fettling.

If you want the standard boot light that slots in the middle of the upper carpet then I have one for sale.

As Martin said, you could try and fit the cabin light. Otherwise there are multiple E36 interior lights which might be suitable for your purpose, e.g. this one:

Thanks for all your friendly replies. My reason for asking was I was looking for a light with an integral switch, but failing that I suppose I could wire a separate switch into the circuit as Mark has done. you asked where I am based ktnez99 I am in Cumbria that's the little wet bit in the top left corner. I will pay a visit to our local scrappy he has at least 30 BMs in stock so fingers crossed.

Trawled the scrapyard for a couple of hours, no luck the lights were either too big, or without switches, and in most cases gone completely so I will copy Mark Parrish and fit an in line switch.
Why do you want a switch for the light? Do you have the “permanently stuck on” fault?
