Loose springs at first hinge in roof

Thought I'd post this pic as clearly shows how I found these loose springs at the first fold front of roof both sides. Simple enough fix : remove outer rubber seal, undo cross screw to remove small triangular block, loose end of cord passes through hole of block, loops onto end of spring then whip to secure. Holds the front edge of the roof lining snug to the mech.

Thank you I have one snapped had a very quick look but cant see how to get the seal off?

Side piece of seal simply pulls off - a bit like a sliding fitting when the metal frame is a C section and the seal a smaller K which fits into it. Give it a pull and easily comes off, you only need to detach half of it enough to access the cross screw holding the triangular block.

yeh tried that, didnt budge, I can live with the spring not attached over a busted seal :thumbsup:

Could always loose the headlining? Only posh Z3s have it.:)

I crimped split lead fishing balls to reattach the cord to the spring when mine came apart.
