I have been looking for a hard top for my topaz blue Z3 for while. The only ones that come up for
sale, are all over the country. So when one came up only 30 miles away I was exited, I emailing the person selling
and I had first refusal, after the person going to see the car had the choice to get both together.
unfortunately he did buy both. so back to searching I went, and I found another on eBay a few weeks later, but it was
a fair distance away. I email the seller and he said the top was sun faded but in good condition for it age, he sent me some photos
and I thought, ok that just need a good cutting and polishing so I asked if he could courier it to me, so we came
to an excerptible deal and all was paid. a week later I took delivery of the hard top, and on seeing it in front of me
the disappointment sunk in. it was not sun faded but had been resprayed to such a bad state that I felt physically sick
that I had just wasted such a lot of money. so on top of the respray issues, it also had deep scratches on the rear window, and a broken
rear demister screen connector !!, So please don't do what an old man should of known better GO LOOK before you buy.
Sorry for the long winded post. take care all.
`Dave

I've bought 3 hard tops over the years and each time I've driven to see it. Furthest was 265 miles, so a 530 mile roundtrip.

Don't feel too bad though, just get it re-sprayed. If you intend to keep the car you'll soon forget the expense.

the top picture was the image I was sent, and the other two are some pictures I took when I got it. when you run your hand over
the top it feels like its covered in grit, the water strips were held on by bath sealant. in the end its my own fault.
