stood outside today watching the lightening and chatting to a colleague, he was telling me about the time a strike had happened in a car park he was in once in Florida, just then a strike occurred just 20 yards from us, so loud it was shocking, guess I wont be chatting or getting anywhere near him during a thunder storm again, its trying to get him.

We watched a lightening strike to ground in Kissimmee in 2002, it made an enormous bang and a huge ball of flame. Never did hear what it struck though. Still love watching storms, especially out in the car at night when the sky lights up as bright as day.

Tony.

We had a few lighting strikes here earlier.
May his got a final destination coming

during and after the crack there was a strange cracking fizzing sound, no fire though but the flash and bang was instantaneos , it just so happened I was looking at the spot it landed, watching a young deer taking cover from the rain, bet he still hasn't stopped running.

Just drove home from Sheffield in the Zed through the storm from hell :ymdevil:
Some deep floods, scary  and lots of branches to negotiate but it's ok Zed now tucked up in bed :)
Might need a clean tomorrow
