I had a similar thing on my Z3 where the window was parting company from the roof fabric, all roofs shrink.
I stitched mine together through the fabric and the window and closed it off at each end to stop the spread all the way around the window. I then finished it off with black sealant, it didnt look too bad but I very rarely had the roof up so it wasnt a concern
Proper job means a new roof and rear window.
Yes I was looking to do the same, tiger seal would be my weapon of choice!!
but then I was thinking that seeing as I own an industrial sewing machine, do I take the skin off and do a quick fix until I can get the new roof fitted? Booked for February assuming I am able to travel there
If it is just to get you to February then Tiger Seal it. It is brilliant stuff, its the only thing that finally stuck my spoiler to the one series, everything else kept lifting.
Yeah, I have taken the wiper scuttle out and blown the drains through, I then poured water over the front screen and doors, the drivers door leaked like a sieve into the car...(there are marks where water has been running in on the lower door paintwork side it has been doing it for years probably!) No water inside car on bulkhead though so it appears that the door membrane is an urgent job on both sides and the rear screen....
So I feel quite positive
I have had that for many years and it is now unsightly, it goes all the way across the bottom of the window and in the upper corners. My choice now is a do it yourself top or to have a pro do it. So, spend about $400 for do it yourself or about $1500 for a pro.
The moral here is eventually you have to do the right thing and replace the top.
