I have noticed a couple of small areas where the laquer coat has come off, How big of job would it be (and any ideas of costs) to get the whole car re-laquered. I am absolutly useless with bodywork beyond clean and polish.

You would need to get the whole car painted, not just top coated as the prep required to flat the edges of the laqueur would more then likely break through the base coat, not only that but there will be paint chips and scratches that will need attending too, as for cost £2500 up
A number of guys here have resprayed their car and you'd be looking at £2500ish for full respray depending on condition of bodywork

Thats what i paid £2500 for the full monty and we only had 2x dings to sort out the rest just needed flattening right back then repainted
Had mine repainted in June, everything apart from the windscreen surround. All panels off except doors and bonnet and had the front wings, rear wings and sills treated and stone chipped on the rear of the panels, plus the bottoms of the sills stone chipped as OEM spec. I fitted brand new front wings and sills. Total cost was £2400.
