Hi all,
My car has recently become stuck in a very awkward position and I need some advice.

The barrel decuded to give out along with the steering lock. After a good amount of jiggling i have managed to get the steering lock off and and the key turned to aux.(in the process the immobiliser ring falling apart.
It seems that it is stuck in this position and i had to disconnect the battery to cut off the power.

Does anyone have any ideas/hints or tips to help me move this.
By the way great forum, I am looking forward to events over the summer.

Thanks
J

If you need to push a pin in to remove the barrel make sure you have a very strong bit of wire. The lock on mine is very tight and I had to use a good stiff springy wire and a lot of patience.

Thanks Delk I'll check it out really i need to tey amd get the car started as its stuck on a public highway
Possible quick fix to get you going is remove steering column lower cover to reveal switch (red in pic) and spindle remove 2 screws holding switch to assembly. With key in ignition (to satisfy system) you can then operate switch by inserting a flat bladed screw driver.
You may be able to re-align spindle by placing socket or grips over knurled end of spindle and turning - has worked for me a couple of times. Edit - additional photo added.
