Love this stage of the build. We’re taking our time with all the little details in this build. Our first nice touch was getting the tank straps coated aswell.

this weekend we also started finishing the last few bits before the subframe goes back in. The diff got a good old clean up, along with fitting the new diff bush

Nice little update, I’m now permanently going to be in the shed for a few months so getting to spend some good time on all these projects you guys have. This weekend we finally refitted the subframe to Keith’s Zed, this leaves me a nice run to the finish on my own playing with the last shinny bits.

Bench assembled. Looks good for 26 years old and 30k miles.

We needed the bench for another subframe drop so fitted her to the car.

The final big update is here: I’ve been working on Keith’s Zed for the last 3 days. I know he’s dying to get out this weekend so I thought I’ll at least try get her done.

First job was getting the shocks built and fitted, along with springs, that way the rear end is supporting itself.

Next I fitted the new gearbox bushes.

I then added the roll bar. Really starting to see the colours pop.
IMG_3791.jpeg

beam sat on the brace bolts.
IMG_3792.jpeg

brakes went on shortly after.
IMG_3793.jpeg

IMG_3794.jpeg

colours work well.
IMG_3795.jpeg

I next fitted the prop and heatshild
IMG_3797.jpeg

I then moved up to the front. We loosely fitted everything to begin with to make sure we had everything.

next was to get the wheels on and take her for a test drive.
IMG_3828.jpeg

nothing to report other than she’s very tight and rides so smooth. Can really feel it only has 30k miles on the clock. Quickly put her back on the ramp to make sure it’s all dry.

tomorrow is a good exterior clean, tracking and MOT. Then I’ll be working my way through the small jobs, first being the rocking seats.

Looking very well underneath
