Hi there,

Just joined the forum and interest in any Z3 Midlands runs.

I have a 2000 Black Z3 Roadster with red leather. I use it mostly in the summer for fun runs out. Having had the car for four years i'm looking to get a few things sorted around the bodywork. I would appreciate any advice on wing mirror corrosion. Can i repair or should i do the plastic replacement kit i see on Amazon. I do like the black. I've looked on ebay for second hand mirrors but the lower priced ones seem no better than i have.

I'm based south Birmingham and interested in any evening pub runs etc around the midlands.

Phil

Welcome.
I think I’d go down the plastic route, as far as the wing mirrors are concerned, then you wouldn’t have any more problems in the future.
Or you could buy second hand if you can find any.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Where in the midlands are you based? I'm an exiled Black Countryman. What is the problem with your mirrors? Do they not turn, or have they just got corroded door mounts? If they don't turn you can free them if you are careful, but if they are fully seized then the best bet is to get the plastic interiors

Hi Jack,
Based near Droitwich Spa.
The mirror aluminium bases are corroded. More so on the driver side. Everything else works fine. Im thinking i will strip and re-paint but have the option to do the plastic conversion.

Hi @Phil Turney, :welcome: to the forum from me too in Staffordshire. I'd go with repainting your bases if the mirrors swivel as they should. Good luck.
