Just bought a Z3 2.8

Just bought a 2.8 at auction with only 32K on the clock. It looks great, but the comms with the previous owner has broken down. It needs a service as with putting only 2-300 miles on per year and little paperwork, a full service and changing all oils is on the cards. I live in South Norfolk, not that far from Diss. Any recommendations as to a BMW specialist within 30 miles? Any thoughts as to what engine oil? Are there any Z3 owners living nearby I can chat with? The radio doesn't work and I quite fancy one with bluetooth, links to my phone - plus hands free phone - any suggestions please? Thanks a lot.

:welcome: to the Forum from West Cumbria.

Try this link for folk in your area;

As an aside @t-tony has the ZedShed up in Lincolnshire where he holds Z surgeries periodically where like minded folk get together and work on their cars ......... and eat burgers 🍔

Try this link for all you're oils etc

Thanks - doesn't look as if there have been any posts since June unless I'm looking in the wrong place! I used to go out with a girl from Whitehaven about 50 years ago - went to a pub in Moresby once!

It's a small World mate, I live in Whitehaven, Moresby is a 10 minute walk away. Just pop a post in to say hello.

Thanks a lot. Presumably this will just slot in? Does it need changes to the wiring/connections, or aerial for DAB? Please excuse what are probably pretty stupid questions!

Needs a little adapter from the BMW harness to a standard ISO one..less than £10. If you want the version with the dab then you will need a dab aerial but again cheap and dead easy to fit.

I forgot I did a video answer on Amazon about the adapter.. Find the Valencia model and then type BMW in the search for specific info

Hi and :welcome: to the forum from me too in Stafford. +1 for the Blaupunkt, I bought this one earlier this year, about the £100 mark, DAB aerial about a tenner...
