No not the rocket stuff - noticed the other day that Jet are now doing E5 higher octane stuff.
No idea how long they have, but not really surprised, and guess we'll see more places stocking it, as sales seem to have increased.
I know we've done the E10 fuel to death on here, but does anyone actually buy it ? and if so why ?
Performance down, and more importantly economy down by around 10% too. With E5 only costing around 8p per litre more - 5% increase, why wouldnt you buy E5 ?
The only folks benefitting from E10 are the farmers with contracts to supply corn for the ethanol. We're growing crops for fuel instead of food, it adds 7% to the price nd as mentioned, returns 10% less economy - doesnt seem good for the motorist.
I understand the enviroment arguement, but technically were using less petrol anyway as more folks move over to leccy cars, and this theroretically will keep on reducing as petrol cars decline.
