When I retired I bought my wife a Z3 2 litre. Twenty years later she still has it and like me it’s starting to show it’s age. It’s now done 60000 pleasurable miles but during the last few years it’s doing about 500 miles per annum. The engine is excellent, mots are no problem, but the beautiful body now needs new sills. We will both be 82 this year and our diamond wedding comes up next year hopefully.
We live in the Ribble Valley and wonder if anyone can suggest a good body shop for the job.
My only criticism is that the car seems to “tramline”. It’s not serious and I know another chap with a1900 car and he feels the same. We have both changed tyres to no avail.
We have two daughters and six grandchildren who all want the car when the time comes so it will need to be sold to keep the peace.
Happy Motoring.
Jerrers.

It will be tyres, or suspension joints/ bushes or a combination of both. As you rightly point out it will be getting “tired” and at 60K most of the suspension will still be original.
