Used to watch these boys do the reverse when landing down the Falklands, proper "nose on the instrument panel" stuff. They were also used as bait for the Phantoms and practiced evasions, we sat on top of Pleasant Peak and watched it all pan out below us. Impressive stuff indeed.
Used to watch pair of c130's doing tactical landings at colerne, when at bath,can't imagine what it looks like from the cockpit. They'd then reverse full length,eject land rover or such like then depart
