How much .......We have just restored one that went to auction and the last 2 bidders where telephone, the final bid was £118,000, it was a 74 V12 soft top, a famous person bought it so sadly it will never be driven.
It was expected to bring £95k so the dealer was over the moon, it wasn't Evans that bought it, the man is a big cheese in F1I know I'm in the minority here but never been a fan of the E-TYPE. Love old cars and old jag XJ's but not the E-TYPE. Did Mr Evans buy it I wonder?
I bet! The difference from what he expected to what it made is a years wages for some people. It was expected to bring £95k so the dealer was over the moon, it wasn't Evans that bought it, the man is a big cheese in F1
We are doing another for the same guy mate, its almost done but he said its too late to take it to auction so he is going to wait until next summer, he is of course a millionaire so its not like he needs the cash, he does it for thrill of it, he has dealt in this type of car since they took off in the early 80s and knows his stuff, we only do the shell and he does most of the other stuff himself, every nut and bolt is replaced with brand new, he takes restoration to the extreme, thats why he gets top money.I bet! The difference from what he expected to what it made is a years wages for some people.
