In view of the current climate and advice that we should discuss our fears and concerns I thought I would take this opportunity to request support of the wider forum so hear goes.
Having owned my E89 since the start of this year and previously highlighted how I much prefer the looks and analogue driving experience my pre-facelift Z3 offers I find myself tending towards the E89.
As much as I had persuaded myself the Z3 was a keeper in fear of the regret I would feel after selling it I find myself more resigned to that outcome in favour of keeping the E89.
I know retaining both would be the logical outcome but unfortunately it's not really an option.
So I guess what I'm after is the view of other members especially those that have been in a similar position and have had to make the same decision.
Look forward to receiving your feedback and remember as Brian Conley would say "it's a puppet" or in this case a car =))

Tough decision to make but sounds like your mind is made up,I would say keep the one you get the most enjoyment from at the end of the day that’s what it’s all about.

I agree with Mark here, apart from I had the Z4 and the Z3. The main reason I kept the Z4 was because Shirl enjoyed riding in it more so than the Z3, which I know was the same for Paul Rice too. As a couple it makes sense to keep the car which you both get the greater enjoyment from. If in your case it is the E89 then that is the one I would keep in your shoes.

Tony.

As said mate, which ever one you prefer.

As Tony states what turned it for me was the Z4 being a better all rounder, a car we can use for Holidays, long runs out etc. in more comfort and with a greater sense of safety. The Z3 was a great car and was probably more of an experience to take out for a run and i enjoyed the fact i was keeping a 20+ years car on the road and looking good. It took some time for me to bond with the 4, I have now and yes i do look back every time i park it up, a true sign the Z4 is a keeper. On another note you like to use your car Gary and living where you do the weather can change at the drop of a hat so when the rain gods arrive un invited i bet the Z4 is the better place to be?

Thanks for all the sage advice to what I do appreciate is the ultimate rhetorical question - currently my head says Z4 but my heart says Z3.
I also think if I make the wrong decision it would be easier to rectify if I sell the E89 than if I sold the Z3 - just think I'd have much more chance of getting another E89 in a similar condition and spec to the one I currently have than I would acquiring a similar pre-facelift Z3.

I think you've answered your own question. At the end of the day it is your decision but I would go with whichever puts a smile on your face when you drive it. It's the reason I drive my 2.2 more than my 3.0, I get more smiles per mile;)
