My s***'s custom!
So, due to Voldemort virus I had to trust Mrs Romans to help with the annual lifting of the hardtop...
All went well and the hardtop was safely removed and stored away. This meant I had my first chance to test fit the side covers I bought last year from Skyer motorsport. I am delighted to report that despite my very quick try-on, they’ll be a good fit!

But alas, all is not well...On pushing the button to raise the roof I got the dreaded flashing light of doom followed by...nothing:facepalm:

I opened the boot to discover everything covered with mildew and the battery housing filled with water. Despite living most of its life in the garage, my Z spent 5 weeks (and tree storms) outside whilst my new kitchen took the garage space during installation.

I used the wet-vac to pull over a pint of water from the boot but I fear I’ve fallen victim to the dreaded roof motor failure:(

to top it off the nearside hardtop housing has suffered some damage to the terminal for the heated rear windscreen.

The end result was Mrs Romans having to help lift the hardtop a second time to refit it and me left with the ballache broken roof scenario.

Sorry to hear that, bad news indeed:(
How ironic my zed is also parked on the drive while my
Garage is full of our new kitchen which will not be fitted
For a good few weeks yet:(
Time to check my boot I think

O no .......
What a horrible find
The inside of your car looks lovely, I didn’t realise it was orange inside too :)

Sorry to hear of the problems....hope they will be sorted soon.

Sorry to hear that Mac, nothing you can’t sort no doubt. Problem is in your line of work you not in isolation and have no spare time on yer hands like the rest of us, looks like your gonna have to make time to fix them, good luck, keep us all posted.

Roy.

Cheers Roy. It is difficult when I see social media posts from people killing spare hours pottering about with cars whilst I'm smashing out back to back 15 hour shifts:bashhead:
It's only temporary though...

Sorry to hear of the car woes Mac, hope they can be sorted reasonably quickly and cheaply. However thanks for all you do at work for the rest of us and please be careful and stay safe.

Tony.

ps. Could you please pm me details for the side trims, in my opinion they're the missing parts that BMW should have supplied with the car.

Cheers Tony. I've sent you a message with the details.

Thats a bugger mate :(.

Not a great day that @Mac Romans I am sure you will get it all sorted ASAP ready for July down here.

@t-tony might know of a good one up in the north. Might just be that it needs a service through lack of use
