Hi all,

I have a couple of questiosns if i may, as i am on my first Z3 i just want to check this is normal:

1 - The power sterring. On full lock there is a noise like a loud clicking, bumping kinda sound until i take the full lock off. Like its trying to move further but some kind of safety is kicking it. A bit like when you try to open a bolle off childproof pills, the lid just clicks as you keep turning.

2 - The centre heater vents seem to close half way on there own when the flow of air is high. I noticed this at speed and the fan on full, its like the fast flow is closing the vent automatically.

Is this normal?

Not good to hold on full lock, hydraulic systems as opposed to modern electric assisted will generally make protesting sounds if held on extreme full lock. Dash vents have just worn and got sloppy, discreetly wedge something in to hold flaps open, my Ford Focus does the same and the air flow blows the flaps partially shut.

My steering rack protests at full lock as you can hear extra strain from the pump, but it doesn't make a clicking noise

My air vents close so I just have a small piece of matchstick in the top to hold them open.
