Probably not carried out in general traffic, but on a test track under strict conditions. A bit like the mpg figures we've been given for years but no one realistically gets close to.

Possibly so but still a fair hike in mileage?

If they can achieve between 400 - 500 miles in real world conditions, I would think thats the sweet spot.

They may be getting the range now but recharging time would still be an issue on long road trips.

You're right Mike and that's the next hurdle I think and I think they will get there. Not too sure about the production of enough electricity to do the charging though.
There did seem to be quite a few EVs in Florida, albeit mainly in the urban area of Orlando.

Everyone buys an electric car then it finally sinks in these are not green at all.
If not fossil fuels then Hydrogen power is the way forward.
Hopefully i can see my motoring days out with good old petrol

Possibly, but its not a good idea to use a precious resourse, that we are running out of as a fuel. Using seawater creates its own problems as needs to be desalinated before it can be used for hydrogen production.

There are always unintended consequences that are often overlooked, and can cause headaches further down the line.
I wish i had the answer though
