Irritating false alarms.

Hi everyone.

I've been getting false alarm activations from my Zed, Ironically it only happens overnight when we're tucked up in bed.
For the last two night shifts at work I've disconnected the tilt sensor in the boot and since I've done that it hasn't gone off.
Does disconnecting the tilt sensor affect any other functions of the alarm or is it showing that the tilt sensor is faulty ?
There are no signs of damp around the sensor which normally points to an issue with it.

Thanks in advance.

My under-bonnet switch caused similar symptoms a few years ago. The night porter at a hotel came and woke me up in the middle of the night as I recall :(

The wiring and connectors to the tilt sensor in my boot had all corroded away so the sensor is on a shelf in the garage and the loose wires are taped up.
Will get round to fixing it one day. But in the meantime all the central locking and alarm still work ok.

Agree it shouldn't affect other alarm functions. You can also disconnect bonnet switch and system will still operate.
Is your car garaged or outdoors at night? I've had mine set off by a neighbour's cat jumping on roof - observed on CCTV - never woke us.
