Hi I just joined but I have a Z3 which is 17 years old now, so that's 1999. I joined because I really want to fit cruise control. I have read that it's not too bad with parts from Ebay. So that's one topic I will look out for.
I am in Norfolk in UK and drive to France fairly regularly. I have a larger BMW too.

:welcome: to the forum from West Cumbria.

@Low Rider recently did the cruise control upgrade, others have too. Take a look on the "forthcoming events" page, loads going on including the Euro Tour. Got any pics of your steed?

Hi Howard, welcome from me near Lincoln. @Low Rider has. CC stalk for sale, you may need another part but as far as I know it's "plug and play" modification. I've tagged Steve so he should be along soon.

Tony.

ps. Several members down your way inc. the EAC.

great news, My Z3 is cable throttle. I have seen parts come up on Ebay, but not sure if I have a complete loom at that date and there's also the software issue. But I can have a go. I will read all I can about it. Thanks for the super quick messages.

As with most bmw's the loom should be present its few that its not and everyone on here seems to have done it in a z3 and z4 without much issue.
Good luck and :welcome:

Hi from Canada!! What engine have you got? I have a list with part numbers for a 1.9 if they're of any advantage to you. There are a lot of components needed and I've been accumulating since 2014 off eBay and I'm down to only needing a few more pieces. JIM

I bought the three components on ebay and wait now. The stalks available were all on LHD cars so I hope I can jiggle it to fit.

The engine is 1.9 with 5 speed manual gearbox from 1999, low mileage and everything seems like new despite the age. We like to do some long journetys so CC would help and also keep us from accidental speeding, it's so easy to creep up! I found a stalk from USA I hope it fits, not too expensive if it's wrong. The actuator is coming from Germany and there seem to be loads of clutch switches to choose from. All Ebay stuff. Do you think I need more?
