Introduction from Z3 owner

Hi. I am new to the forum. I have a BMW Z3 2001. It was one of the last off the production line. When I bought it I was told it was no longer made but there was one still in the system. It has 34,000 km on the clock and is in very good condition apart from the rubber trim round the rear screen which is coming away. I am very keen to sort this out since in all other respects the car is in fantastic shape. I have been confused by the advice on the subject of a repair. Some say it is part of the roof, including my local BMW dealer who I think sees me purely as a profit opportunity! Other advice suggests it is part of the rear screen and I just need to replace that. Any guidance on which is correct and if it is the former, how to repair it, would be hugely welcome. Thanks for reading.

However, I don't want to burst your bubble but both my Z3s were made in 2002. One in Feb and the other in March, so I don't think yours was the last off the line

Good morning. The car was bought and remains in South West France. About 100km west of Toulouse. It is a left hand drive vehicle.
