Bit of a shocker. Speculative trek to look over and test drive another Z3, turned in to a bit of result. Deal has been done trading my MINI Cooper, so I get the Z3 and a large fist full of cash from the dealer :D

Its a March 2001 2.2 Sport in "Topasblau" with air con; Harmon Kardon; Trip Computer; CD auto changer (cassette player in head unit); blue electric hood; illuminated gear knob;

It does need some attention; machine polish to remove the swirls, seats need a bit of recolouring, and the blue hood needs a damn good scrub. Usual stone chips on the bonnet and front bumper. The wheels will need refurbing at some stage but have nearly new tyres all round (will put my 18s on for Zed Fest ;) )

The garage have some prep work to do on it, so hoping to collect her on Thursday.

That looks like a good deal you got there Gary. Your new Zed looks good, love the colour and the 2 tone seats. Looking forward to seeing it at Silverstone.

No close inspections please gents, won't be show standard for a few months... :shy:

I must admit I wasn't at all convinced on getting a blue Zed, in fact it was 2nd from bottom on my list of preferred colours. Once she is de-swirled & machine polised I think the colour will be a lot crisper. :cool:

Recommend the G3 Scratch Remover and Rejenerator, made a hell of a difference to the Z4

Thanks billz, it really was last minute decision to see this one. Was going to send out some emails later, but now you have seen this first I don't need to ;)

Wish I could have stretched the cash further, but I really was surprised by how much quicker the 2.2 is than my 2.0!

Not bad Gaz, seats will come up a treat, and as its a sport no money to spend on lowering, you can spend your money on one of those ebay electric turbo's ;)

What you doing with the 2.0?

I want one of those turbo whistles that you put up the tail pipe, that would be epic :ymdevil:

The 2.0 is currently on SORN waiting for some inspiration. The sills are in the shed, and the car dumped on the end of the drive. Too good to break, but not worth enough to do up.

Have you had a body shop look at the sills, i am sure they would repair and paint for £100 - £150 at least you could put back together and get £2-3k in the bank

Use the 2.0 as an ongoing project car and use it as a donor car if anything breaks on the 2.2

Ignore my question on the other thread. When you get your polishing kit, you could allways buff it back to its undercoat......;)

Glad you've finally managed to find one. Colour looks good and it does polish up to a great colour. See you at Silverstone.

Good buy there Gaz, you won't be needing a test drive of mine then. Great colour choice, the blue really does come up looking great, but does show the stone chips. Hope to see 'Rosie' on a cruise sometime. Cheers Dave.
