I am an OAP (80 years old) I was recently given a 2004 BMW Z4 2.5i SE Auto Convertable by my brother - 11 years my senior he had to give up driving. I decided to keep the car and sell my motorcycle, (i could not afford both on the OAP) - I love to travel (just returned from a trip to Germany and Austria) but even backpackers and YH are getting out of my budget so I have started building (almost complete) a small teardrop trailer to extend my sojourning, as long as I can, I would love to visit Sweden possibly towards the end of this year or spring next year - they tell me the fishing is good there.

A touch on the expensive side but these tow bars are out there, and would show you where it should be mounted if you wanted to make one?

By the way welcome from me near Lincoln.

Tony.

Welcome crusty , my dad is well into his 80s and still driving all over the place so plenty of years to use the zed yet, hope you get to Sweden ,been a few times and it's a lovely albeit expensive country. If you are tee total it helps (which I'm definitely not) as alcohol is really pricey.
What bike did you have, im in my 60s but can't give it up much to the wife's annoyance.

If you are interested, I keep a diary of my trip to Austria, and Germany. You can download it on Amazon (Kindle 90p) or paperback. Sorry I was unable to post pictures. Still it is readable.

Sorry misunderstood bike and motorcycle - again meny over the years. The longest serving my BMW R80RT - the latest a GPZ 500S, much lighter for me to ride, the Beemer was heavy loaded, and my feet could not reach the ground.

Getting withdrawal symptoms already, thinking of a lightweight off-road bike. Cheap and cheerful to keep ( no MOT no road tax...)

I retired from motorbikes aged 60 having ridden one since I was 17 and still having all my limbs wife convinced me it was time to pack up ..................lasted about 14 months before I bought another one but must admit now I've got another zed having sold my last one a few years back I'm wondering how much use the Suzuki will get this summer.

Yes they deteriorate rapidly if not used - brakes seeze, battery boes flat, electronics go wonky, been there do it and have teh empty bank book to prove it.
