Hi. All.
Just picked up a Z3. It’s gonna need a fair amount of work. (I’m limited in my knowledge)
I’m here to seek advice.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Thanks @Shelly and @t-tony I'm located in Sydney AUS.

My first challenge is..... the bonnet won't open.
The in car cable is not releasing. How does the bonnet open without using the cable?
(seems like both bonnet locator / springs are stuck)
Any help would be helpful.

Thanks
Tez

Hi and welcome from me. If you remove the trim panel from underneath the bumper you can reach up to the cables on the catches, you will need to either Jack the car up and put on axel stands or put the car on some ramps. You can also gain access from removing the kidney grills, best way suggested by a member on here is to thread a trouser belt through the grill slats then hold the belt taught and give a good yank and should come out but you possibly might break a few of the lugs.

Welcome @Tez3 you will find all you need to know about your car and how to do jobs yourself on here its a Mine of information.
Just booked a holiday and Cruise in your neck of the woods but thats in March 2023 otherwise I would have popped in when we arrive in Sydney and give you a hand sorting it. Add your location in your user details or make a signature showing it as well as year and model of your Z so it appears in your posts, it assists us to know so you get the correct answers to your questions.

Worked like a dream. Didn’t need to remove bumper or grill. Used extra long flat head screwdrivers from underneath to manipulate both latches. Now just need to replace broken parts. Easy.
