Back then we were given an allowance to buy pretty much what we wanted, and I think he had to sleep with the girl who ran the fleet to get it approved.

I went with the (allegedly) more sensible Vauxhall Astra 2.0 Sport estate. It was a delight of both torque steer and massive under steer, but violently quick in a straight line...
