Got a renewal letter through from hastings today.
Last year i paid £605, this year its £440... Went online with the same company its £330.
Well i cant complain about that!

One thing to ask, the value of my car according to comparethemarket is £1150 =)):wtf:
I have adjusted it to £4000 but would they pay oout that much if i claimed?

Don't waste your time with a regular insurer. They'll pay you out whatever glasses guide says. Unless you have a genuine agreed value policy you'll only ever get whatever glasses guide says which is not not much days...

No.!

What are you basing the value of £4k for your car on as there is such a range of prices on Pistonheads depending on year and mileage? What value did you have previously for the car on last year's policy? Also have you got this new value on your new policy paperwork with the insurer and have they fully in agreement with it?
The only way really to get a value that the insurance company will take note of is to get an independent valuation from the BMWCC or similar organisation. I recently had my car valued by BMWCC cost me £24.99 as I'm a club member, its £49.98 for non-members.
Did you not give Manning a try for a quote? I went with them this year after my old insurer wanted quite a hike in premium after getting the new BMWCC club valuation. I was well happy with their quote and follow up.

I'm more than happy paying 300 so don't feel I need to try getting it any cheaper
