Hi,

I have got my instrument panel out as my fuel gauge bulb has blown.. i have the cluster out, and have noticed a few bulbs missing which i think should be anyway such as diesel glow plug trailer lights...

Also missing is my hazard warning bulb check engine light, and it looks as though one of the beige bulbs 1.5 watts lighting the lcd display, has been replaced with a black 1.2w...

i was wondering if anyone has successfully changed some of these for led type bulbs, and if so what bulb to get.. ?

and also curious as to, if i inserted a check engine bulb as to whether it would work ?

as i believe euro 1998 models didnt get a check engine light... bulb missing but the logo is there in dash as proved by shining torch through dash.. would it work ?

thanks AL.

@t-tony - when you had your instruments out did you change your bulbs over? Can't remember why you took it out now...
I bought an alloy face for the instruments mate, but the sun reflected so badly off it I binned it. I spoiled the clear cover so bought a new pod from Andy. I ended up with spare bulbs, have some left, given some away.

it was only the steering wheel bolt the one holding the steering wheel on to the splined shaft... nothing that important really !!!!

what i did was just temporarily pop the wheel on and pop the dash in, air bag on, and re connect the battery to see if the dash lights were working.... after my last tightening up of the air bag i picked up the 16mm socket and t-bar.. and ooops the steering wheel bolt was there...... I would have seen it there as i am pretty particular when i tidy up my tools theres nothing left.... and only put my tools away once i can clarify i have used them....

I dread to thingk what would have happened if the wheel came off in my hands..
