The service book doesn't say which one it was? This is a snap shot of the last service.

Bmw should be able to tell you Richard.

Are you going to a main dealer?

Hasn't been serviced since June 2012

Tut tut Richard ;)

Looks like your last service was engine oil , coolant and break fluid. Its common knowledge to change the brake fluid and coolant every two years Richard so I would make sure there done again.

Edit- no I think the bottom one is air filter. So I would get your brake fluid and coolant done anyway

I think you will have to drop by your local stealer and let them read your key. That's what I had to do with my MINI and that's the same system IIRC.

This is far too complicated to a simpleton like me  What ever happened to let's do a service every 20,000 miles :(

I wouldn't bother with bmw Richard... Quoted me £1000 for inspection 1 and £1200 for inspection 2 for the M..

I take mine to heritage motors in thorney. They service all classics and modern motors. My friend is a mechanic there.
They serviced my uncles Aston V8 vantage recently and will use all genuine parts.

It used to annoy the hell out of my with my MINI. Special trip to get the key read, and then because they then have you in front of them they ask when you want to book it in. Last time they didn't even bother to tell me how much it would cost first, just when they had slots available.

Richard

It depends on how long your keeping your car.

Main dealer prices are quite competitive now.

I take mine to a bmw independent, but your car is not that old and I would get a main dealer stamp to preserve its history.

Our m cars are close on 15 years old, and therefore an independant or good garage (thorny etc) will suffice.

Hi Richard has yours got the I drive, rotary control in the centre console, if it has you can tell which service from there. Just had inspection on our E61 for £120 at BMW main dealer.

Looking at your service book I think it will only brake fluid which is a 2 year interval. Coolant is 10 year, oil is 12 to 15 k miles air filter is 3rd oil change.
