Inlet Cam angle sensor question please...

I am getting Inlet cam angle sensor code , My question is , is it possible that a poorly functioning vanos could be causing it, and if so maybe I should just wait until my vanos rebuild kit arrives. But I also have to consider that it much easier to get at with the vanos and actuator removed. What would you do,?..If the answer is, "replace it while your in there" and if so, OEM or aftermarket, and from whom is the best deal, ?.. Thanking you in advance...

Most people will tell you to only buy Genuine BMW cam position sensors. You can buy OEM quality parts in the aftermarket here in the UK if you know what you're doing. I don't know if similar items are available down under.
So my advice (which goes against my principles) is buy genuine, and do it now.

And the job won't be much easier with the Vanos out, not difficult with it in. Mind you, I've done a few now.
