Afternoon all,

my 2L Z3 has a strange issue with the instrument cluster. The fuel gauge and temperature gauge read low. Even when the temperature is correct and the fuel is full both read a quarter low on the dials.

has anyone else had this and know the culprit? The cluster and ECU has been removed by someone before me so maybe and error made whilst doing that.

they will have put the pointers back on incorrectly, in the wrong position.
You need to take the front glass off and pull the pointers off and refit them in the correct position.
they just pull off, and push back on
thank you.

Okay so only just getting round to doing this. If I do an instrument cluster test and the dials go all the way to the top do you think its still the case they need to be removed and pushed back on?

The temp gauge is easy enough to do, set it on the bottom mark at cold. The fuel gauge is slightly more difficult. What I would do is go and "neck" the tank and get home as directly as you can and set it on "full".

Tony.
