hi all

Does anyone know the part number for the idle control valve on a 1999 1.9 Z3?

I am thinking of changing mine due to idle issues.

Have found loads on eBay from £35 to £145.

Need to know part number but don't really know where to look.

Number on part is 3 284 010 237

Is this the part number?
Adverts on eBay don't have a match to this number but have loads of others.

Please help. Still bit of a newbie with all this.

Cheers adobo.

Brfore you splash out on a replacement try cleaning the inside with carb cleaner, take it off and flood the inside with carb cleaner to wash it out. They do get a sticky build up inside, when clean it should rattle if you shake it in your hand as the internal flap slops about.

Would that create a buzzing sound also? Mine is making a buzzing sound. I can't seem to find the part with a matching number anywhere so salvaging the existing part would be great. Thanks!

Yes they do buzz, cleaning it out might quieten it down.
The part number you posted is not known on the oem parts site, if your car is a 1999 1.9 with the M43 engine?
If it is the parts diagram on oem parts site is No9 in this page

I have a ‘98 with the 1.9. Images attached of the part. It’s a mystery to me why the number doesn’t show up anywhere.

The oem diagram is showing No9 as the correct part for your engine.
Before fitting a replacement take it off and flush it out with carb cleaner as I suggested earlier.
