Now, this is just an idea at the moment that I thought I'd float by everyone. There may be no interest - which is fine. And I may or may not be able to organise it in time.
As some of you may know I've been a Scalextric collector, dealer and swapmeet organiser for over 25 years. I run 2 events each year, 1 in Swindon (my home town) and 1 in Havant (where Scalextric was originally made in the 1960s).
For reasons I won't go into (and don't matter) I've been obliged to take the whole of the sports hall for Havant on 24 Sep rather than the half I would normally need.
This is all booked and paid for therefore half of the hall is going begging.
So it's just crossed my mind if the other half of the hall could be used by the forum for some sort of gathering. I know indoors is a bit alien but I'm wondering about an autojumble type of event? Or whatever anyone fancies.
Any thoughts? The Facebook page for the Scalextric event is here with photos. Havant is next door to Portsmouth and as such very well connected by road to much of the South, South East and London.
