Yesterday, I removed a cover I had over the car. The clear coat on the bonnet had blistered up and started to peal and I had stopped at a repair/paint shop and got an estimate to repair it. I had to remove the cover to drive it to the shop. I folded the cover and opened the trunk (boot) to store the cover. The inside top of the boot was drenched. I was told before to replace the brake light seal to prevent this from happening. The last time I had opened the boot, it was wet and I dried it completely. I then covered the car. The cover is waterproof. When I removed the cover this time, the entire car was dry except the inside top of the boot. Now it wasn't wet from any rain. I had recently replaced the antenna grommet. Perhaps water had entered the hole where the old grommet was and is sitting in a pool somewhere below the deck of the boot? The rest of the boot, including the carpet fabric is completely dry. ??????????????? Frankie

I used to have an old Merc in storage and I would get the same problem. Used to get build up of condensation inside the car too. I just lowered the windows half an inch or so and left the boot on the latch and it cleared quite quickly. The Merc was in a garage but I kept it covered with old duvets.
You just need to let it breathe a bit

Its all in the posts you two have made about your investments and the problems you have/had.
Not quite sure where you're coming from. The car I bought for $3500. July '12 had nothing wrong with it aside from needing a top and a rubber grommet on the antenna. The top lasted another year before I decided to replace it which is certainly not unusual for a car 18 years old. The rubber grommet is a $10. item and I didn't give it my proper attention. The clear coat blisters are due to bird droppings which I should have cleaned off sooner or had a cover on the car to begin with. So what does this have to do with my investment? Frankie in a tiff.

Not sure how you consider my investment junk when all it needed for the safety were 4 tires, which I knew needed replacing and a brake light bulb. I also knew it would need a new hood and even if it hadn't was planning on changing to either tan or green from day one. Someone hitting it and leaving and the transporter losing the car had nothing to do with the car I bought. So I really have to ask again. ??????? ???????????

Just think about it for a moment, if it was not for the French, we would still own the place and the price
of a Z would be in accordance with the UK market.....
