I was driving back, top down, on the scenic route to Aylsham, (B1145) from the Marham Family and friends Day last Thursday. What a lovely road that is, lots of swoopy bends and hardly any traffic......Anyway, slowing down to approach a crossroad in one of the villages I was eyeballed by a couple of young lads. When I stopped one shouted out, " I like your car mister." So I replied, " Thank you very much." As I pulled away he called out, "You're welcome!" That made me smile, and think how many times, over the years, have those five words been directed to some lucky chap in a nice car....... Today, that lucky chap was me. I felt for a while, all was right with the world............But then I remembered Donald Trump!

Always nice to get a compliment , I was out yesterday @ B&Q and driving out the car park a little lad just stopped and starred pointing and telling his dad to look, made me smile :)

A while ago I was parked, roof down, waiting to pick my son up from his student digs in Coventry - typical student housing in a run down area.

Two teenagers dressed in the usual baggy garb were stood on the opposite side of the road and they kept staring over and talking to each other. I was beginning to get a bit uncomfortable and about to drive off when one of them shouts 'Nice car' and puts thumbs up and they walk off.

The same happen to me the other day.
I popped out to the Z3 as a young woman and her partner were walking pass as she said nice car mat thanks I replied

When I got home from work yesterday I had parked mine outside the garage, roof down, and as a couple walked past back from the Car Boot sale he stopped and looked at my Z. Now we've "pruned" the garden back you can actually see up the drive.

At the recent Corton Classic Car show I was sitting in my car with roof down enjoying a cuppa & a sit down when an elderly came over & started chatting to me about my car, he seemed to be genuinely interested in it & appeared to be quite knowledgable - however as he turned to walk away he muttered 'f**kin poseur' & walked off!!!!!! - how I did laugh :)

I must say that I have had quite few comments of a similar nature from a number of people, makes me feel proud of the car I drive.

It was probably the sunglasses, tattoos and baseball cap on back to front that did it Richard!:D

Was out front washing my Z once and three very young girls walked past, stopped and looked at the car and said "Ooh nice car, will you take us for a drive?"
I said thank you and no, as I do not want to go to prison and anyway, the wife is looking out the window.

The other time was with my pimped 230CE Merc in the UK, four young lads walked up smoking spliffs and I thought 'oh, here we go'.
They looked at the car and said "nice car mate" and walked off.
Probably thought I was a drugs dealer,

Probably right too .................................................;)=))=))

Probably right too

Oy, watch it you.
Dutch plates mate, got pulled out of the queue once at the Dover end of the Chunnel in my pimped Merc 190E.
This was on the way back to NL by the way.

They went through the car with special gloves on that then went in to some sort of scanner to check for drugs.
They said all clear and me being pished off for being held up for one hour I said 'yeah, would be, just sold it all and I am on my way back for more'

They told me to button it if I wanted to go back home.....:bag:

I was getting into my Z about 6 months ago :p
And two young lads walked by and said .......:)
lovely car can I have a drive in it :)

When I first bought my Z3 1.9L, a few moments after I had bought it, I stopped for gas as I had bought it in Maryland and had to drive back to New Jersey. I don't think I had the car 15 minutes. While getting gas, a young woman on the other side of the gas pump island who was also getting gas, walked over to my car with her jaw dropped and said, "My God, that's the most beautiful car I have ever seen!!!!!". Now I had just thought if I had made the right move getting a car I didn't really need but her remarks put an end to those thoughts...................Frankie

What great posts and shows you that even the younger gen know a nice looking car when they see one. The Z can hold its own even in today's vast choice IMO , but then I'm biased.:bored:
