My radio has descernible tastes. After sorting out the aerial connection, the only station it will pick up is radio 4??
Anybody got any idea what's going on?

have you scanned your radio, on fm and mw?
Yup, several times, automatically and manually. Not one station even remotely comes on, only radio 4?

It's a new stereo, so I think the problem is with the unit but it's still strange that it will pick up 1 station!!!

It is possible that the aerial is not connected properly but the Radio 4 signal is strong enough to tune in anyway.
However the problem could be with your aerial, the head unit, or the connection between the two.
You need to start eliminating possibilities.
Did your old unit work OK?
Try removing the new one from the fascia and try connecting a long loose piece of wire into the centre pin
of the aerial and see if that brings in any more stations.
Post up the results so we can help you further ;)

Our daughter's partner said that when he bought a new stereo, a radio expert said that to get all the channells, he would need a booster cable attached from the radio to the aerial, as all the newer cars have them already fitted.
Wondered if this might be the case for you, Richard :-bd

Have a look on Amazon for a BMW CAR STEREO/RADIO ANTENNA ADAPTOR FOR Z4 = £4.87 Especially for fitting aftermarket stereos.

If all else fails, we quite like Radio 4. ;)

I have an adapter fitted but as it happens, I've just ordered that exact one just in case it was the adapter that's causing the problem.
