Hello all,

Hope everyone is well.

I needed some advice. I am considering selling my BMW Z3 3.0 but wanted to know where the best place to sell so that it could reach the right type of audience and obtain a fair price. Not sure if selling through the common market places like autotrader, ebay, pistonheads etc would be that place. Are their sites anyone has used where the buyers are interested in future classic/classic cars or international private buyers or even dealers. What about approaching BMW dealerships directly?

Of course forums such as this is a good starter but wanted to widen my reach and exposure.

Any tips or advice would be grateful.

Thanks

Amz

just sold mine on Facebook market place and it sold within a couple of days to a lovely lady who is now a member of this forum. It gets a good audience, maybe worth a go.

I would personally offer it up to the forum first with a description of works done, condition and mileage etc also some nice photo shots. See what interest/advice you get here before offering it out to a wider community JMO

I didn’t get much response when I did that with mine. Maybe it was at the high end of the market in terms of price?

Wow that is some quick turnaround and no fees to pay too. Good stuff.

Fingers crossed.

Thanks for the heads up :)

Ideally I would like it to be sold to a forum member who is passionate about these cars but I have to agree with you that my asking price is going to be on the high end.

Thanks

Thank you. Aiming to get the ad up on here in the next few days or if not sooner. :)

There's maybe different types of buyers how to aim a sale , there's those who see a z3 as a car to use and hence maybe expect cheaper prices , there's the collector (rarer and not quick sale) who will pay a higher price maybe over the odds to get the car /spec they want and keep its as a occasional toy or even an investment for rarer low mileage ones

Shame you have come to the decision to sell your car but a wise man once told me "only one thing sells a house or a car and that's the price".
So I think you do need to be realistic and my advice would be to advertise at near your lowest price stating that it is firm - then sell your spare parts separately like tonneau, spare wheels, car cover etc.
I think ebay is a reasonable place to buy and sell cars but viewing is essential.
The worry of Covid-19 is something to be considered too - so you will need to decide how to allow people to touch or even test drive your car and how you will clean it after each viewer. Good Luck.
