Hydraulic pump leaks oil

I have ordered the replacement hydraulic unit for my Z4 E85 recently from roofmotors.co.uk, because the old one died. Today we are installing it and we have some problems with it. We switched all the hydraulic lines and power cables from old to new as they were on old unit and now after testing it, the motor works, but the unit leaks oil from everywhere on the unit and the roof doesn't move. What could be the problem? The oil is just over the + sign, so this should not be the issue.

And can some one also elaborate what exactly do they mean by the label on the package:

Take care to ensure that the release pin on the pump body is seated correctly & lubricated before final installation.
Carefully use a 5mm socket or pliers to pull the pin slightly proud of the body.

What release pin? Could this be the problem? Please help if you can, I'm desperate.

I would check the ports where all the hydraulic lines are inserted on the OLD pump to see if there are rubber seals left in there from the ends of the plastic lines. This happens regularly when changing clutch cylinders.

Also have a good look on YouTube as there are some useful videos on there to watch.

Ok, we figured out the problem. roofmotors send me a defective hydraulic pump. There wasn't any o ring, so no rubber seals between the motor and the pump. The pump also had worn out drive shaft or what is it called, sorry but English is not my native language. I'm very disappointed with their refurbished unit and service. They don't even respond. I purchased the whole unit and not just the motor because I wanted to do just a simple swap. Now my service guy wasted one and a half day (and my money for labor) for wondering what the problem was and not thinking it could be the unit itself. We included another mechanic today which is a specialist for this kind of stuff and he dismantled the new unit and then my old one and then we saw what the problem was. I need to pay for this guy's hours too btw. So thanks roofmotors! After reusing my old hydraulic pump and their motor there were no leaks and the roof now works though.

Thank you for your help t-tony.

Hey just happy to hear you have the roof working again. Maybe you could ask "Roofmotors" to cover the cost of 2nd Guy's time.

Yes maybe I should do that. I don't think they will agree with that though. I'll ask them, I don't have anything to lose..
