Yeah, very lucky with some of the best drives in the UK. Mind you, Cumbria is the wettest County in England so we have to take our chances when they come. Lots of great drives in Scotland and Wales too. Where abouts were you doing this work? Telescope, sounds interesting.
I travel to the UK several times per year on biz, and sometimes for vacation as well. Mostly, it is to the North Central and the Eastern parts of the Kingdom....Imperial War Museum in both London and Duxford are real highlights. On vacation,

I like to shoot street photography in various parts of London. To the west, just a bit south of Dumfries (near you and the water) is a lovely area of very dark sky. Great for astronomy. Eastern coast of the US is not really the best for this hobby, as light pollution is endemic. Also, the northern Scottish Coast has several world-class dark-sky parks.

Hello and welcome from Winchester.. Southern England. :)
Thx for the note.....spent some time a few years ago researching '40's military installations near Brighton. Passed through and enjoyed a couple of meals in Winchester, near the Commons areas. Cannoit recall their names, but can recall that the weather in Dec was bone-chilling and the Oyster Stew was spot-on!
Regards,
Marc

Friendly group here!

Indeed, will do so. Shop has it this week to correct a couple of maintenance-related suspension issues (yeah...I am a bit picky about a-n-y issues and will strive for perfection - when one buys a 15-year old car, one understands there will be a few pebbles in the road). Great drive-time here in The States so want to make sure it is road-ready. Will post a couple of pics of the "other" roadies as requested.
