How much fluid is required to refill the transmission after doing a drain?

To do a simple drain and refill of a transmission in a 1998 Z3 M Roadster with S52 engine, does anyone know how much MTF I will need? The dealership told me a single liter, but that doesn't sound like enough to me. I can't seem to find the information.

1.2lt for a full refill according to TIS.
