How many is in a pair nowadays?

Was I wrong to think that I had bought 6 pairs? They have sent me 6 and are adamant that that is correct....

If I had ordered 6 off I would have expected 12 pieces i.e. 6 pairs. If that price is for 1piece then the ad is misleading. Not the end of the world but very annoying and well worth a complaint to eBay if they do not change the listing to make it more clear.

You should have received 12 clips Steve. When you scroll down the "amount" there are odd numbers which means they would have to split pairs and they state that they're sold "in pairs" . Very deceitful wording mate. I would report that to eBay myself.

Nope if I clicked on quantity 6, I would definitely expect 12 clips, they have sent you 3 pairs, don't see how they can argue with that.

Order 6 you should have had 12 clips simples that's how the English language works.

It's all in the interpretation - in my view the buyer needs to be specific to avoid confusion and state - as in your case - six pairs. If you paid up front surely the cost would have reflected the total pieces ordered?

It clearly states that they're sold in pairs not singular. How ever many you order you are ordering pairs ! 6 pairs = 12 clips.

I believe the Ebay seller has interpreted Steve's order of 6 - as three pairs (the absence of the word 'pairs' could be the reason).

But they can't David. Their own listing states sold in pairs and their amount just says 1,2,3,4 etc. Maybe not inteional but the seller is in the wrong here.

I looked at the ad. I tried to forget what you posted and thought of it as if I had seen it for the first time. It is confusing, however, I saw that in the picture, there is only ONE item and not a pair. This would, AT THIS POINT, lead me to believe that each item is 1.50 and that if you wanted 1 of them, you couldn't get one without having to order a pair of them for 3.00 (sorry, no key for 'pounds' on this keyboard). HOWEVER..................................... Just to verify this, I placed the curser over the print "IN YOUR BASKET" for just ONE. Now, if you had to order in pairs. then you SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO ORDER JUST ONE. The order number in the basked should automatically read 2.. The "ONE" then, ACCORDING TO THEM, must mean a pair of two by THIER DEFINITION. The total in my basket read ONE FOR 1.50. Again, since they say that they can't sell you just ONE, then their setup MUST MEAN 1 AS A PAIR. It's THEIR logic and I whole heartedly agree with you...................Frankie

I've ordered the clips elsewhere as they say they don't have any more. I've asked to return the item but they expect me to pay the return postage and then charge me £2 restocking fee which means I would get about £2 back from my £8.50....

I've bought quite a few items from BMMiniparts - I'm rather shocked at how they respond to their own mistake.
